Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama inaugurates $70m Kasapreko Factory in Accra

A $70 million state-of-the-art factory built by Kasapreko Company Limited has been inaugurated by President John Dramani Mahama at a colourful ceremony in Accra, Ghana.

The factory, which is situated at the company’s head office off the Spintex Road, has the capacity to produce over 110, 000 bottles of beverages and water per hour. Fruit juice, energy drinks, hard liquor and mineral water and more will be produced at the factory.

President Mahama, who inaugurated the factory on Tuesday, commended Board Chairman and the Founder of Kasapreko Company Limited, Dr. Kwabena Adjei for making Ghana proud by establishing such a brand.

He said Kasapreko has over the years given Ghanaians truly unique and local alternatives to foreign brands of liquors and wines, adding that it blends natural herbs from local sources.

“Kasapreko is truly an ambassador of African culture with the high creativity of adverts which showcases our culture. This goes a long way to show the Ghanaian potential to excel in business and to create great products that can compete on the world market,” he added.

The President said his administration was looking at ways of boosting local production and creating an enabling environment for local companies to thrive.

He also launched Kasapreko’s newly-packaged flagship products- Alomo Bitters, Alomo Silver and Alomo Gold.

Dr. Adjei said the facility is equipped with world-class machinery that would help produce various brands in different packaging formats.

“We have invested in two state-of-the-art customized high speed production lines for our spirit brands. These two lines have a combined capacity to package 70,000 bottles in one hour in both glass and PET formats,” he said. “We have just completed the installation of two additional high-speed lines to produce our water and non-alcoholic drinks with a combined capacity of 40,000 bottles per hour.”

These four packaging lines, Dr. Adjei said, are the first of their kind in the country. “This is in line with our commitment to quality and the drive to remain the market leader through research and development and the use of modern technology,” he added.
