South Africa’s Cabinet is making a renewed push to boost success among the country’s commercial farmers while driving economic growth and job creation in the nation’s agriculture sector.
SA’s Cabinet this week welcomed an initiative dubbed the ‘CEOs Know’ campaign by Brand South Africa, in collaboration with Business Leadership South Africa, to promote the country as an investment destination.
In a statement issued on March 15th, 2018, the country’s Department of Communications also encouraged South Africans to play their part by sharing their positive stories to build the nation’s reputation and grow its investment appeal.
“South Africa remains open for business, and investments in agriculture and farming are welcomed,” said Nomvula Paula Mokonyane, the country’s Minister of Communications.
“It is in South Africa’s interests to have commercial farmers and this process can ensure we have even greater numbers of successful commercial farmers,” she explained.
Minister Mokonyane stated that SA’s Cabinet had reaffirmed its commitment to a solid public-private partnership as the country pursues its energy transition objectives of the future.
She added that Minister the country’s Cabinet had made calls on all sectors of society to build on the positive momentum of 2017, and work with government to translate its plans into concrete action to sustain economic growth and create jobs.
South Africa noted a 1.3% growth in its economy in 2017, an increase from 0.3% in 2016.
“The performance of the economy under difficult conditions bodes well for the country’s future economic prospects,” Mokonyane said.
