Angolan Development Bank Assesses Rice, Timber Projects in Moxico

An Angolan Development Bank (BDA) delegation Wednesday ended a pre-assessment visit to eight projects in the field of timber exploration and rice production in the eastern Moxico province, submitted to the Ministry of Economy for funding.
The Angolan Development Bank CEO, Manuel da Costa, said the projects are estimated at a total of USD 20 million.
As for the previously financed projects by BDA in the region, the manager admitted existing some constraints, but he stressed the need to tackle the situation to ensure their viability and sustainability.
In her turn, the deputy governor for the economic sector, Maria António, highlighted the BDA’s role in Moxico, and encouraged the promoters to come up with projects related to the exploration of cassava and honey.
During its two-day stay, the delegation met with the provincial governor and project promoters.‎
