The financial programming for the implementation of Angola’s National Water Plan (NWP), a legal instrument approved Wednesday in the Council of Ministers, is estimated at $110 billion and has a time horizon year of 2040.
According to the Secretary of State for Water, Luís Filipe da Silva, many of the actions foreseen in the PNS are already underway, such as the Lauca Hydroelectric Project (Malanje) and the expansion of the Cambambe dam (Cuanza Norte).
Luís Filipe da Silva, who was speaking to the press at the end of the first ordinary session of the Council of Ministers, said that the financial programming should undergo regular revisions every five years for specific adjustments.
He informed that the National Water Plan made a survey based on the information existing in the different sectors and the development strategy Angola 2025.
