Leading global ICT solutions provider Huawei has teamed up with the Tanzania Telecommunications Company Limited (TTCL) to launch 4.5G network in Tanzania, marking TTCL’s continuing transformative and aggressive journey to market penetration in the country.
“This launch reveals a long history between Huawei Tanzania and TTCL in providing ICT solutions in Tanzania including Mobile Broadband and Fix Broadband. We believe both 4G and 4.5G will contribute effectively to TTCL and make the company achieve its business strategic objectives,” Huawei Tanzania Managing Director Bruce Zhang said.
Huawei and TTCL have partnered for over 10 years to transform Tanzania’s telecommunication sector by ensuring that they provide the fastest and most reliable network for the development of the nation.
Zhang added that Huawei will also introduce fix broadband solutions that can be a powerful engine for TTCL revenue.
Prof. Faustino Kamuzora, Permanent Secretary, Tanzania’s Ministry of Works, Transport and Communication thanked Huawei for supporting government projects and continued partnership with TTCL.
“I would like to urge other companies and the public at large to give their full support to TTCL as a way of supporting government efforts in making the telecom firm the market leader in Tanzania,” Kamuzora said.
Huawei Technologies Tanzania was established in 2001. It has 230 staff members, 67 per cent of them Tanzanian nationals.
The company recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for ICT cooperation with the Tanzanian government becoming the official ICT advisor to the government.
