Bishoftu Automotive Industry has announced plans to establish 27 new automotive engineering zones across Ethiopia the in the coming years, according to Ethiopian Herald.
Gebremedhin Zeselassie, General Manager of Bishoftu Automotive Industry, said the Industry is planning to open 27 automotive engineering zones that will be assembling and manufacturing motorcycles, bicycles, light and heavy trucks and other vehicles in different parts of Ethiopia. He further stated that his company is also providing professional training in neighbouring countries.
Bishoftu Automotive Industry assembles and manufactures pick-up, station-wagon, light and medium trucks, minibus and buses.
An agreement has already been signed with Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda to build motor production factories. Kenya has also placed orders to purchase 400 buses from Bishoftu.
