NIGERIA LAUNCHES ‘HEALTHMOBILE’ IT’S FIRST GLOBAL HEALTHCARE APP

The idea behind ‘HealthMobile’, Nigeria’s first global healthcare app, is to provide a platform that will allow the combination of already existing health information with user-generated content.

HealthMobile is the product of the HealthBook Project, an initiative founded by Joshua Ihejiamaizu and Johnson Okorie, co-owners of NIXIT. It is the project’s second mobile app.

The app will be available for Android and BB10 users and provides health news, food, diet and lifestyle planning advice as well as a hospital locator service.

There is also information on drugs, supplements, first aid information and videos.

“The content of the app is also geared towards helping doctors get smarter and ease the workload attached to their jobs,” the developers stated.

“Healthcare delivery around the globe is taking a new technological twist and it is refreshing to know that Africa is not getting left behind

“In this era of smart devices and high internet connectivity, each of us deserves better access to healthcare information from the ease of our mobile phones to better manage our health and make better-informed lifestyle choices.”

The app is available on MTN Next Apps, Google Playstore, Amazon Apps, Opera Mobile Store and AppBrain.
