Exactly two years after she released her first single ‘Pieces’, Nigerian Soul-Singer, Tomi Owó, has embarked on a new project called the ‘Nostalgia Sessions’. The Nostalgia Sessions are a series of video covers of select foreign and indigenous songs released in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s.
According to the remarkable artiste, “the sessions are a celebration of some of our favourite classics, and a tribute to the legacy and artistry of these respected artistes.”
The Nostalgia Sessions began in September 2017 with videos released weekly for #FlashBackFriday, and so far, she has covered Des’ree’s “You Gotta Be”, Dido’s “White Flag”, Christy Essien-Igbokwe’s “Seun Rere” and Angelique Kidjo’s “Agolo”. The sessions have received reviews on YouTube and Tomi Owó’s social media handles, even getting a thumbs-up from Angelique Kidjo on Twitter for her “Agolo” cover.
