The Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) has launched Easy Portal, an online customer self-service portal targeting investors in Uganda.
Easy Portal will allow investors to view their stock performance and statements as well as monitor their balances, easing access to information that could previously only be sourced from stockbrokers.
“The portal will provide an option for investors take charge of their portfolio by personally monitoring their accounts,” Paul Bwiso, CEO Uganda Securities Exchange said.
The move is expected to ease the investment information process of those interested in investing in the shares of companies listed in Uganda, according to Footprint to Africa.
Placing the power of investments in the hands of the investors is also expected to contribute to the growth and development of Uganda’s economy.
To use the 24-hour Easy Portal solution, existing investors will sign up for the service and potential investors will have to open an account with the Securities Central Depository System (SCD).
The portal will also provide an IPO application service for existing investors to participate in public offers.
Overall, Easy Portal will improve service delivery and enhance customer satisfaction.
